The Premier league transfer window closed 18:00 on Thursday, 8th of August with all 20 Premier clubs spending a combined fee of £1398.51bn. Manchester United spent the most despite bringing just three players while newcomers, Aston Villa also splashed £144.5m. Norwich were the least spenders with £1.1m closely followed by last season’s runners-up Liverpool who spent just £4.4m.
Arsenal and Everton were quite impressive withe the former breaking their transfer record fee to bring in Ivorien Nicolas Pepe from Lille. Despite their transfer ban, Chelsea managed to spend £4om with the permanent signature of Mateo Kovacic while Manchester City also strengthened their squad with £134.8m.
